چکیده
Reducing the computational workload by simplifying analysis of karst foundations into a plane strain problem can yield significant advantages. Yet, such an approach fails in reproducing engineering situation rigorous manner. In this regard, paper proposes upper-bound method that effectively analyze bearing capacity three-dimensional foundations. This is utilized to investigate impact various pile diameters, ratio roof thickness diameter, and cave width diameter on stability The validity established through illustrative example. outcomes illustrate when subjected both tensile compressive horizontal stresses if maximum stress surpasses strength rock mass, mass may suffer damage. Increasing bring down value. factor largely influenced diameter. most prominent growth trend observed less than 3. If exceeds 3, prediction estimation for foundation circumstances more conservative two-dimensional circumstances.

Study on Bearing Capacity of Prestressed Pipe Pile Foundation Under Horizontal Load
Received: June 12, 2017 Revised: October 24, 2017 Accepted: November 03, 2017 Abstract: Background and Objective: Prestressed high strength concrete pipe pile (PHC) shows brittle fracture when subjected to more than its own bearing capacity. Therefore, the non-prestressed steel bar is added to the PHC pipe pile, that is, the mixed reinforced pipe pile (PRC). The mechanical behavior of PRC group...
متن کاملBearing Capacity of Strip Footings near Slopes Using Lower Bound Limit Analysis
Stability of foundations near slopes is one of the important and complicated problems in geotechnical engineering, which has been investigated by various methods such as limit equilibrium, limit analysis, slip-line, finite element and discrete element. The complexity of this problem is resulted from the combination of two probable failures: foundation failure and overall slope failure. The curr...
متن کاملSeismic Bearing Capacity of Strip Footings on Pile-Stabilized Slopes
This paper develops an analytical method to calculate seismic bearing capacity of a strip footing, which is located on a slope reinforced with rows of pile. The resistance of passive pile is determined based on normal and shear stress of the soil around the pile, which is then compared to other analytical methods. This comparison indicates an acceptable agreement. The variants of the study incl...
متن کاملStudy on Load-Bearing Characteristics of a New Pile Group Foundation for an Offshore Wind Turbine
Because offshore wind turbines are high-rise structures, they transfer large horizontal loads and moments to their foundations. One of the keys to designing a foundation is determining the sensitivities and laws affecting its load-bearing capacity. In this study, this procedure was carried out for a new high-rise cap pile group foundation adapted to the loading characteristics of offshore wind ...
